Is it just me or do you have the urge to just pick this kid up and squeeze him? The past week I hung out for a bit with Mason and his mom and dad for some fun time and a trip to the park. I had so much fun - I mean he's just SO cute!!! I tell ya, instead of paying for a gym membership, I think I'll just start offering little rascal sessions all year round! :0)

Holiday In St. Elmo

Hi all. I'm so completely broken hearted to have to tell you that I will not be able to make the Holiday in St. Elmo Festival this time. I've had an unexpected family emergency and won't be able to attend.

As the blog stalkers know - I was SOOOO pumped for the art show!! I'm sick and completely broken-hearted to have to miss it!!! I guess I'll put a count down on the calendar for the Holiday Festival of 2009! :0)

Just because I'm not able to attend - I highly recommend the festival - it's going to be a BLAST! The amazing people who put the show together have left no detail untouched! (and hugs to the planners of the festival for understanding and not hating me for having to miss it.)

Tessa + Michael || Newly Weds

I've been blogging like crazy here lately - I was thinking I was doing good! Turns out I was saving all my posts to drafts instead of actually posting them! Despite that, I think I should still get an "A" for effort!

This past Saturday I met Tessa and Michael in Tybee Island, GA for some fun newly wed photo time. Our plan was to shoot all over the island, on the beach and then get in the ocean. The weather channel's predicted "Sunny 60 degrees" turned out to be 46 degrees with cold winds. So instead of doing what I wanted to do - drag them all over the island shooting to my hearts content - we ended up doing a quick shoot out beside the lighthouse on Saturday evening. It was freezing!!! I was freezing and I had on everything in my closet all at once - so imagine being in a sleeveless dress that was designed for summer wedding wear! I have to admit - they both did WAY better than I would have!! Despite the arctic weather, we managed to get some sheer awesomeness, all the same!

The one below is my FAVORITE from the day! Ya'll better do something amazing and huge with this one or I'm disowning you! :0) :::hugs:::

I'm thinking on a warm day we'll be doing some more here soon - after all, I didn't get to shoot to my heart's content! :0)

The entire day was completely centered around Lisa + Wade, their beliefs, their passion for music and their intense love for one another. Mary Lynn & Tim || Wed At Last

Meet Mary Lynn & Timmy. They first met in the 8th grade with sort of a 'love at first sight' scene straight from a movie. This past weekend they said "I do" in a ceremony at their church in Hixson. I met with this happy couple the week before the wedding to talk about their details when they first told me about their church; How it wasn't the typical "pretty" church. After all, it had been converted from a shopping center into the structure it was today. What's funny, is that when I look back at the moments of their day, I don't notice their surroundings at all...

Another moment I love is this one. Not only is this an emotional moment with the paster, but he also happens to be Timmy's father. I can honestly say that I've never teared up so many times at a single wedding. Everything he said was so incredibly sweet! He'd lose it and then everyone in the room would lose it... ugh... so sweet.

Ok, so these guys were nuts! Before the wedding they had a pre-ceremony jam session in the groom's room. Afterwards, well, things got a little crazy...

Ok so, when I rounded up the wedding party for this shot, I basically said "to the corn field." I'm not totally sure but I think they thought I was joking...

As a huge surprise for his bride, Timmy sang a beautiful love song. (Any man that will sing to you in a room full of people is pretty okay in my book.)

Okay, stop tearing up... lets move onto the "making out" section of this post...

Alright, so - I love bird seed as much as the next girl... but I'm not real sure if handing it out as a weapon is such a hot idea. Just sayin' is all... (by the way, from a photographer's stand point, #1, never stand anywhere near the line of fire, and, #2 bird seed, when thrown with true conviction, really hurts when it nails you in the side of the face.)

Okay boys and girls, I think you've drooled quite enough for now. There's only a bazillion more to see, but all in due time. Too much of a good thing can be dangerous to your health... so they say... personally I think that's just crazy talk!

Oh, what a day! This past weekend myself and my team had the huge honor of being apart of Christy & Jason's beautiful Santa Rosa Beach wedding in sunny Florida. We arrived a few days before hand only to be greeted by unwelcoming cloudy skies, followed by bad storms and hard rain for the next two days. With the weather channel saying that only more was in sight, to say everyone was a little worried would have been an understatement. Saturday arrived though in all it's beautiful and sunny glory - nothing short of a small miracle!

Okay, check out this amazing cake! The sea shells are made of white chocolate and all were flown in from the tip of FL for the special event. I'll converse with the people in the know and find out the info of who did them and pass it along to all you blog stalkers out there - :o) I'm just going to say that this is one of my favorite wedding cakes ever! WOW!

As stunning as the wedding cake is - the groom's cake held it's own pretty well. Check out the detail of this cake - right down to the stitching in the bag!

I LOVE working in circles of friends, that way I get to see all these amazing couples over and over again! :o) - I actually met Christy for the first time at Julia & Adam's wedding a year ago - fast forward 13 months and here they are today! Still as adorable as ever -

The long awaited bridals! A few weeks before the wedding I had the pleasure of hanging out with Bethany and we did a mini-bridal session. I say mini because 1) we got a late start and 2) we saw a HUGE monster-like snake about 30 mins or so into shooting. I don't do snakes - in fact I openly admit that if I had to push you and run to get away, that I'm totally okay with that. After the whole snake thing, I didn't really have the creative vibe anymore so we called it a day. :o) We're going back out for a newly wed session in a few weeks - this time we're taking a snake hunter - some huge, hairy, scary looking man with a big gun and a great aim -- or maybe I'll just order the cootie -n- critter proof bubble I've had my eye on for so long...

Returning to work - sorta

My father and I when I was 2. I'm not real sure what happened to my blonde hair; I also think it's cruel that my mother would make me wear that!

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be returning to a part-time work schedule for the next few weeks, beginning with a wedding in Atlanta this weekend. My father was not married and being his only child, I have lots of things to take care of with his affairs. I appreciate your understanding in this difficult time.

I have received lots of email inquires for weddings and portrait sessions - I'm so sorry for the delay - I will be emailing everyone early in the week. I will be taking care of orders and answers all questions as well on Sun - Mon. If you do not hear from me by Wednesday, please email me.

Also, I wanted to thank everyone once again for your emails, calls, cards and even flowers sent to the funeral home. I can't tell you what it means to myself and my family. A huge thank you to my sister Kim, for being there no matter what; along with tons of other family for your support. Also, I'd like to thank my friends, Rachel, Hollie and Ricki for everything. I must say, I have some pretty amazing people around me! :::hugs-n-luv2every1:::

Death in the family - Out of the office

I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be out of the office. My dad has had a massive stroke and the doctors are expecting him to pass away.

If you have questions or need anything please email me and I'll get with you as soon as I can. If you have an emergency, please title your email as "911". If you are expecting orders or packages from the studio, there will be a delay. As of now I am unsure when we'll be up and running as usual. I appreciate your understanding at this time, thank you in advance.

**** Friday, March 21 - Update: Just a real quick note to let you know that my father past away early this morning. He wasn't in pain and even though he was in a coma, I feel like he knew I was there. I never knew how I'd react to a situation like this, everyone is different I guess. I can honestly say I've held it together way better than what I could've hoped. I've cried for my own selfish pity, but I know he's in a much better place than I am. I'm sad and heart-broken that it's happened, but as soon as he passed on I felt such a calmness and a relief that he had. Going "Home" he called it.

Just a note, also that since this post and my email went out to everyone last night I have received so! so! so! so! many emails and phone calls with well wishes and "honestly, if you need anything" messages. There are no words to say how amazing that is, I truly and honestly thank you so much. In a better time in the future I'll let each of you know, and even though my heart isn't into responding right now, I want you to know that I have received them and read them. Thank you :::hugs:::

For the many friends and family who read this blog - the visitation will be Monday night from 6p-8p @ the Erwin-Petitt Funeral Home (12855 Hwy 27, Summerville, GA 30747) and the services will be held at his Church in Trion, GA on Tuesday. Visitation will begin at 12, services begin at 1. I do have a favor to ask - for those of you who knew my father, there will be an album set out at the Funeral Home and Church - I ask that you write your favorite stories or happy memories about him. He was a pretty wild guy, never met anyone who knew him who didn't have a story to tell. I'm appreciate it if you'd help me preserve them.

Afterward the services and burial, I've decided to hold a little celebration at the Church fellowship hall. Please only bring your positive energy and lets have some happy memories, old stories and laughter. Laughing until you cry is allowed but if you boo-hoo I'll throw you out. :o) If you can't make the Monday or Tuesday services, please do still come to the celebration get together, it would mean a lot to me and I know it would my dad.

My oh my... since Monday I've clocked in 90 hours, 54 just since Thursday... so you can bet that today I slept and slept and slept.

Yesterday was the fabulous Chattanooga Bridal Show, hosted by the fine people at Premier Bride. This year we were honored to be apart of the hussle and bussle, wow it was a blast!

A very big thank you to all the wonderful brides, mothers and grooms who stopped by our booth to say hello! I loved hearing all about your plans, ideas and the many different stories of who popped the question and how. We had SOOOOOOO much fun and we hope you did too!

For everyone who didn't get a chance to attend, we wanted to share just a few of the photos we took throughout the day. We started with a 9'x10' blank space, added in some flare and elbow grease to create our comfy, cozy spot.

Lauren and Kelly are so cute! We just had to have them be apart of our day!

I love our flowers! Jennifer at the Chickamauga Flower Shop (whom I love dearly) created these fun, energetic arrangements for us in these crazy cute tins.

Our new info packets, they're a good mix of steamy and sweet!

We all know that all good things must come to an end. Between Angela and myself, we talked to so many wonderful people, I laughed a lot and even teared up with some of you. Thank you so much Chattanooga, we're excited to talk to you all again and can't wait to be apart of your wedding! Oh and CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU ALL!

Gone Green

We're green! So excited!

As I blog I am surrounded by thousands of pieces of paper from things like tax receipts, printed email, notes written on pretty paper, contracts, post-its and much much more. It's amazing that most of this is just useless waste for the environment, after all, we live in a digital era.

Our 2008 goal is to do away with the need of paper with the use of desktop post-its, saving our emails via the computer, introducing our web based client communication community, electronic contracts, billing and more.

I also take a vow to turn off my computer when I'm not using it, instead of leaving it running. It's pretty amazing to see how much energy you save from this one tiny thing. On average, saving $95 a year in energy costs. Another goal is to cut down on unnecessary travel by ordering more online and doing all my running while I'm out. As many of you know, I live in the country, around 45 minutes from Chattanooga, so I'm trying to combine things to do in my trips for this coming year.

All of these are small things, the cost of the software for us to go digital is around the same amount I spend in plain white printer paper a year, so really, over time you save. The best part is we're helping the environment!

Here's the fun part... I challenge all of my blog stalkers out there to post at least 1 thing in the comment box below that you could change this year to help the environment. I'll keep everyone updated on my progress during the year and would love to share your story too! Have pictures? Email is a funny thing. It brings you many things; Questions, messages from old friends, new friends, laughs and sometimes even headaches. My favorite thing to find in my email is love. Today I found a lot of love in my email and I wanted to share it with you.

What can you say to that? I must admit that some days the weight of the "business" life gets to me, I feel over powered by that instead of inspired by the reason I began this journey in the first place, which is photography. To hear that something you created and worked so hard on has such a major impact on someones life is just extraordinary and so very inspiring! I can't thank you enough for that! i :::heart::: lauren + kelly, what an AMAZING couple! At our first meeting they each told me that they were a bit nervous at the idea of stepping in front of the camera, but when the day finally arrived for their engagements, you sure couldn't tell!

I adore Lauren's expression in this image above, oh my gosh it is just so transparent to how she feels. Love it!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding with the lovely Ricki Chester at a beautiful wedding at Grandview on top Lookout Mountain. The day was beyond perfect, cool breezes and the soft golden light that comes with the Fall seasons.

The day's schedule ran a bit behind schedule so while Ricki photographed the ladies, I took the gentleman out for a fun session.

I admit, a mailbox is an odd place to find shaving cream, nevertheless, that's what was found.

Part One||
Yesterday morning I started off my day as I usually do, with email, a quick run through of my day's tasks and then starting in on editing. An enormous urge to grab my camera and get out of the house began it's battle until winning early this morning. Rachel and I packed our gear, loaded the car and set out for a day of nothing but fun shooting and good times. The day lead to bo' berry biscuits, dirt roads, high weeds, head stones, pumpkins, shucks, jam and shopping...

If only I could find a pumpkin...

A not-so-secret fact about me is that I LOVE fall festivals! Can't get enough of them! One I go to every year is the Rock Springs Show -n- Sell. Back in the day when I worked for a local news publication I had to attend this show as an assignment. Every year I go back and people still remember me for making them mini-celebrities... lol I have tons of pictures of people and things, here are just a hand full that caught my eye.

I LOVE these little clay Halloween characters. Made completely by hand, too!

Here's the whole set of these little cuties. I love the ghost, he's my favorite!

The smell of Kettle Corn is infectious, the making of it, however, looks kinda dangerous.

As ever year, my Christmas starts in September. That's when I start listening to Christmas music from Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. By the time Christmas actually gets here, though, I'm sick of it and am usually ready for it to be over with. :o) I **heart** frosty the snowman!

Blackberry A Lemon

Last week I finally ordered a blackberry phone. With my work and travel schedule as it is, it's been a long over due purchase. I was SO excited, I got the exact one I've been wanting! As soon as it came I ripped the box open, added all my info and addresses and checked out all the cool little features.

Yesterday, on my way home from working in Savannah, it decided it's 4 days in use was too much and completely shut down. All it would do was show this white screen and a "JUM Error 102" message! If you've ever been from Savannah to Atlanta, you know you have to travel the 165 miles of NOTHING from Savannah to Macon. No towns along the way, just barely a gas station! To beat all, it was raining buckets, I had to drive between 30 - 50 mph for nearly 200 miles! In Macon, (Thanks to my new GPS) I found a Cingular store to see if they could fix it. They did the only 2 things that tech support knew to do, neither worked and they deemed it unfixable. A 4 day old blackberry, completely worthless! I ordered it directly from Cingular.com so I'll have to mail it back to them and wait for something to happen. Whats even more fun, is the department I have to speak to about turning on my old phone won't be open until Monday!

I'm so disappointed! I'm not real sure I want another one of these phones!!

Christy + Jason || Engaged

I met Christy and Jason a few months ago at Julia and Adam's wedding. Before the reception was over we were already planning all the great photos to be had for their beach wedding! When we started talking about engagement photos all sorts of ideas began to spawn, none quite held up to all the beach had to offer, however. With a lot of luck, the kind that never really happens on it's own, our paths crossed in the same city on the same week! Earlier this month, we met in Santa Rosa, just East of Destin for their "super sexy, seductive and steamy" engagements!

Our shoot began at the beautiful Eden Garden State Park...

After Eden Gardens, we moved to the emerald beaches of Seaside. Wow, what an amazing place!

I cannot wait for the wedding in May!! It's going to be a blast!

He begged and begged but I just wouldn't let him down! Something about needing to sing for 6,000 screaming fans or something, I don't really know, I wasn't listening all that well... too busy mopping up the drool. hehe But wow, that photo shoot sure was fun!

Ok, Ok, so I didn't capture him and bring him home with me, even though he's adorable, 100% Italian and would make a PERFECT pool boy! Ohhhhh how I wanted to though!

I'm so excited that today is FINALLY here! My awesome friend, Rachel, along with myself are completely addicted to Buble! In only a few hours we'll be looking at Michael Buble, up close and in person. I can't think of anything better, easy on the eyes with a voice as smooth as honey!

Being a photographer, I have bags full of equipment, however, none that the Fox would allow. "No professional Cameras or recording devices" the lady told me on the phone. I guess that's better than what the ticket said, "no cameras at all."

On the way to Atlanta we stopped by Best Buy and I bought a sweet camera, a canon power shot. I'm already in love!

All that shopping made us hungry so we went for some lunch @ Chili's. While we were waiting for our food I tore open my box and went right to playing with my new camera toy. I can't even remember the last piece of camera equipment I've bought that was strictly for play, how FUN! And, it even does video... hehehe

Well, technically I *AM* on vacation... **ahem**

At least I helped soften the blow of my naughtiness by having a salad.

At long last, we arrived at our hotel, the beyond beautiful Georgian Terrace, directly across the street from the Fox.

After check-in we made our way up to our 1,350 sq ft 2 bedroom suite on the 12th floor, here's the view from our floor down to the lobby.

After getting our things in the room we went up to the roof to take a look at the view. At some 20+ floors from the ground, the view of Atlanta was crazy awesome!

I wanted to check out my zoom, if you'll look at the photo above you can see the Kodak sign towards the middle of the frame. Below is a zoomed image, it's crystal clear (except for the Atlanta smog) and really close up! How sweet is that!

After a rooftop view, we wandered down to the street to catch the Buble Fever. All the watering holes were having pre-parties or specialty named Buble cocktails! :0)

... along the side of the Fox, the many tour buses of the band and crew were parked along the street. Here's a shot of Michael's bus... Ya know, they're not nearly as easy to break into as you may think.

BUBLE ON THE BRAIN!

Just a quick note that I will not be available on Aug 14th or 15th. I'm taking a few personal days to see Michael Buble, live, up close and in person in Atlanta. Should I happen to go shopping while I'm in town, then so be it. hehe :0)

Ashley + Chris || Wedding

Ashley and Chris were married this past Saturday in Atlanta. The ceremony was held in the beautiful surroundings at Piedmont Park. The weather was perfect, cloudy and cool, rare for a July day. The reception was held at the stunning Fox Theater, which I love and adore in every way! The staff is unbeatable and beyond friendly, I can't wait to go back!

Catherine + David || Wedding

Catherine and David we're our "purdiful" 07.07.07 couple. Despite the fact that the day was suppose to be a lucky one, I'm not sure I've ever seen so many things not go according to plan as with this wedding. A few dress and hair mishaps, the cake made a late appearance, the incredibly dedicated planner was quite ill and even I was pretty sick, though I'm proud to say nobody noticed :) Willpower baby! hehe

Even with that, Catherine and David were cool as cucumbers through the whole day, they should give stress-free lessons.. lol Here are just a few from this incredibly beautiful day, that ended just as it should... as husband and wife! Congratulations you two!!

Cain || The Senior Experience

Senior portrait time is in full swing this time of year. I love senior sessions because I get to show more than just the young adult, but their personalities, style and true self.

Take Cain, for example, our session began in a wooded area, moved to some weeds and ended up in the mud. Yep, I said mud! Lots and lots of mud! (I love my job, hehe)

It's nearly 3:30 am and I've just gotten home from the 1st showing of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Myself and a few of my friends went to the 12:01a showing, which was incredible! We arrived at the theater at 10p with the intent of having dinner before the show at the neighboring pizza place but even by then the line to get in was wrapped around the building so we opted to jump in line instead. The place was packed and every theater in there was showing the movie. I love going on opening day, everyone is so excited, lots of people dress in character and you get to experience the movie with a few hundred other people all laughing and cheering at the same thing. If you're not a fan then you just think I'm a big dork, but there is something about being transformed back to childhood for a few hours that just puts an extra spring in my step.

Oh, and the movie was amazing! The entry into the storyline was great and I loved how the filmed just moved along and progressed. The battle at the end wasn't quite as horrifying as the book but completely great all the same.

It's way past my bedtime and I have a 6:30a wake-up coming soon... night!

Little Brooklynn is walking! I'm so exited! To celebrate we went to build-a-bear for a little fun and running for mom and dad. ;o)

After our BFF building session, we went to dinner at the American Cafe. As you know I've been on a fitness craze here lately and I've been eating LOTS of chicken. I thought I'd go crazy and have a steak. I'm not sure if it really was that good or just because I've had chicken for a month and a half, but wow, it was good!!!

Trinity, by the way, is the amazing talent behind The Finishing Touch wedding and event planning.

Thanks Brooklynn, Trinity and Eddie for such a fun evening! I can't tell you how amazing it is to see your family grow, thank you for inviting me along! I can't wait for our mother/daughter session coming up here soon!

Baby Nolan

Catherine + David || The Engagement

Meet Catherine and David. Catherine is a school teacher who passionately loves her work while David flies the friendly skies as a pilot. The two met while in college at MTSU, fell madly in love with each other and plan to say 'I do' on 07.07.07. I first spoke to this awesome couple by phone awhile back about their wedding plans and couldn't wait to meet them. Last weekend I finally got my chance!

We had planned a meeting at a coffee shop in Murfreesboro with thoughts of doing a few quick engagement photos after. We got to talking about Franklin and I mentioned how much I love The Factory. The Factory is this charming shopping area full of local artist, shops and entertainment. When Catherine said she also loved The Factory, I blankly asked "well then, why are we sitting here?!?!"

We began our shoot in this brightly colored sitting area just inside the doors...

My favorite part about The Factory are these old windows. I love this rustic, industrial look and feel.

This two are so much fun, how cute are they!

Why an engagement session? Well, not only do we have loads of fun and laugh a lot.. but you get to make out! :o)

By this time in the shoot, the uncomfortable feeling of being in front of a camera had completely went away and the real Catherine and David started to reveal their selves. I love the two expressions here, too cute!

A thank you to the flower lady on this one, who let us invade her space and didn't kick us out. :o)

All that lovey-dovey can make a person hungry, so we took a little break to have lunch at the Saffire. The food was incredible! (and no I didn't cheat, if you're wondering) I'm pretty sure this is my new favorite place to eat in Franklin, I can't wait to go back. If you stop by, I highly recommend the Bayou Mac.

After dinner, we dropped in "The Sweet Shoppe" (still, I didn't cheat, hehe)

Julia + Adam || The Wedding

This past weekend we had the pleasure of photographing Julia + Adam's stunningly beautiful wedding at the mountain resort in Big Canoe, GA. I don't know many people I'd rather spend my birthday with than J + A, these two are so much fun, I had a blast!

One thing is certain, Adam has incredible taste, not only in a bride but bling too!

Meet Adam, his best man gave a lil assistance with the tie.

I had such a great time with these ladies! What an awesome way to spend a b-day!

I have to share with you Adam's cake. How cool is this! Adam is a die hard bowler and in honor of that, his cake is shaped like bowling balls! Julia even had Mr + Mrs bowler shirts made!

Wow, I had a BLAST, Julia + Adam are incredible, the wedding party were so much fun and the family... wow!

An Atlanta Birthday, almost...

My friend Hollie and I took a trip to Atlanta today for some shopping, hanging out and fondue to celebrate my birthday, which technically was Saturday but still. To most people, Disney World is the happiest place on earth, to me it's B+H Photo, Pottery Barn + Ikea. Since B+H is in New York City and we're not, we did the next best thing and raided Ikea. Rarely ever do I actually buy anything there but I love to walk and look. They have such fun stuff! I did score a sweet dark orange cast iron fondue pot and a wall desk. By wall desk, I mean it actually hangs on the wall. I'm short on space so I have to be creative!

If you've never been to Ikea, heres a sample room on there showroom floor. They have the funniest, cutest, most unique stuff. Based in the UK, for local customers they offer houses in a box for the low cost of around 15k US.

After Ikea we hit the mall and then T.G.I.Friday's for some awesome Jack Daniel's chicken and veggies. As you know I gave up sugar, what you don't know is that the clause to that rule was "except for melting pot" !!! So I took advantage of my clever exception insert and indulged with a Flaming Turtle and a glass of Tears of Dew.

What better way to turn older!?!?! Thanks for the company, the laughs and the chocolate!

Nike+ update

As promised, I'm doing my workouts, drinking water and staying away from sugar. It actually hasn't been hard at all, I haven't craved anything or had the urge to cheat. I will confuse that I was working at Mi Aroma a few days ago and as usual it was 10 below zero and I wanted something hot. Without thinking I ordered a Carmel Latte and had took a few drinks when it dawned on me. I did the right thing and threw it away, I felt guilty then so I drank extra water in an attempted to cancel out the bad... lol

My 3 mi walk from today, I also did some toning exercises and worked on the abs alil bit. :oD

Tomorrow I'm off to Atlanta with my friend Hollie to celebrate my birthday day... woohoo!

If you're like me and have ever wondered what a wedding planner's wedding is like, let me just tell ya, it's nothing short of fabulous! Being a wedding planner, Cheryl knows the importance of having a planner, so she herself hired a coordinating team!

The Nike+ Challenge

Yesterday I began my 1st fitness filled, healthy lifestyle, Nike+ day! If you haven't heard of Nike+, it's an awesome system, a sensor that goes in your shoe and talks to your ipod. It acts as a personal trainer and keeps track of your walks or runs.

You'd never know it now, but I was the fitness queen in high school. Worked out 7 days a week, 3 - 4 hours a day and never ate over 1500 calories, no matter what. Same story as everything, life gets in the way, your busy, no time, blah blah blah... Then, about 5 years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and all went down hill from there. As a part of dealing with PCOS, eating extremely healthy and exercising is highly recommended, which is something I've done on and off, but the whole life, no time thing has always gotten in the way.

Knowing it needs to be done, I'm hereby committing to exercising and eating healthy. I'm also challenging you to join me! It's so much easier to eat out than to buy organic and cook at home and it's so much easier to veg out in your down time than to work out, but I'm officially making the effort and blogging my progress. I'm starting off walking and working my way up! The sweet part about the Nike+ system is your workout info is transfered from your ipod to the Nike+ site, there you can show the world what you'd down, challenge people and even trash talk with the people you run or walk against! If you'd care to join me, just send your email address and I'll add you to the challenge!

Here is today's progress. Small but it's way better than nothing! I've also completely swore off all drinks but water and given up sugar not naturally found in foods. I'm 4 days into it and I feel great, no cravings at all.

Amy + Jon's wedding day will forever be remembered as the coldest April 07th day in the history of our area. Despite the cold, the entire day was beyond gorgeous and perfect in every way. The location is one of the best and prettiest spots I've ever seen! Full of charm, every square inch of the property is perfection, not to mention Nancy + the staff, WOW!

Meet Jennifer, who is the owner and floral design artist of the Chickamauga Flower Shop.

The 2 upstairs bridal rooms of the house were fabulous, perfect decor, perfect lighting, perfect setting. When I saw the old style bed, I knew I had to do something with it. After a little persuasion and maybe a tear or two, Amy agreed. I'm so glad, these are some of my favorite images of the whole day!

A little kiss out behind the barn. Amy + Jon choose to see each other before the ceremony and really gave us some creative time for pictures. You can see some perfect examples of why the Fillauer House is such a cool place, little details that really set it apart.

This afternoon I checked my email to find this waiting for me. I teared up and giggled all at the same time! All this love and she hasn't seen a single wedding photo yet! I have the coolest job on the planet!

"You are so GREAT!!!!!!!
I felt so great about picking you in the beginining and 1000 times that after the wedding. You and your crew worked so hard. I can't say enough about you and them. I felt completely at ease. That feeling is priceless. I can't wait to see everything.

My mom is your newest fan. When I told her she was going to have a website to show her friends. Oh my goodness she was so excited!!! She doesn't even have a computer at home but was talking about going to buy one. You don't think she was proud do you??? I know everyone had a great time especially me, Jon and the girls!! They had a BALL. I guess all that worked payed off.
I would like to give you a raving letter of review for future clients. Can I put it into a word document and you attach it to your site or should I send it via snail mail?? I want to tell everyone you are the one to have at their big day!!

I know that this will not be the last time we work together. Trinity says you take amazing maternity photos also. Who knows when but I promise you will be there!!!!

Wendy + Andy || The Engagement

Shot on location at Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain, GA.

I first met Wendy + Andy a few months ago at Cafe Mi Aroma. From the moment they sat down and we started chatting I could tell they were absolutely crazy about one another. I honest to God, no fooling, sure enough, teared up twice when Andy was telling me about his bride to be. I was sure they thought I was a nut after that but instead we started making plans for their engagement shoot. When I asked what some of their favorite things were, Wendy mentioned butterflies and nature. Ask anyone who knows me and they'll tell you I've been wanting to shoot something at Callaway for far too long now and I saw a chance to do just that. I mentioned the idea and they immediately said yes, which made me love them instantly.

I'm not sure who was more excited, them or me, after tons of excited emails from Wendy to that effect and a super sweet voicemail from Andy the night before, Thursday finally arrived!

We began our shoot in the fabulous butterfly garden.

It's too perfect that the theme for the wedding will be tropical.

After a quick lunch, we ventured over to the amazing lake area where we lucked upon the most incredible light!

Behind the lake were dozens of stunning azalea bushes of every color and hundreds of tulips along side the creek.

The ground was completely covered in pink azalea blooms and we were blanketed by a thick patch of bushes. I adore the colors and fun of this image!

I'm certain that I've never heard the words "I love you" so many times in my life. They are so in love with each other that they absolutely glow at the sight of the other.

The laugh on Wendy's face is infectious, I can't look at these without smiling and laughing myself.

The light was beyond perfect and was so kind at this very moment. I love the bursts of light coming through the trees that seem to fall on them.

From there we went to the beach for some fun in the sand and evening sunshine. As we were walking under the picnic area, the ceiling jumped out at me and we had to do something with it.

We hit the beach during the time of day that is known to us photographers as the "golden hour" for some warm light. I love this image, I think it says so much about these two. You can just tell from their expressions what's in their hearts, I love it.

Check out this ring, not only is this guy adorable and sweet but he has awesome taste in the bling-bling department.

Wow, I can't even begin to describe the fun I had with these two. I'm forever greatful for this day, I got to spend it with two people I adore at an amazing location doing what I love to do the most, can a person be more blessed than that? Thank you, thank you, thank you.
